Denver Metropolitan Area & Beyond
Rooted in Englewood, Colorado, Ecology Ephemera bridges ecological insight with creative communication to help people connect with and support the natural world.
Freelance Ecology & Design Services
Data Management & Visualization
Working in R and ArcGIS, Ecology Ephemera helps clients translate complex data into engaging maps and visual narratives that bring their findings to life.
DELIVERABLE EXAMPLE: Heat map outlining ZIP codes in Omaha, NE. Each ZIP code is color-filled using a green ramp scale. ZIP codes with the highest sample counts are highlighted in the signature green (#71ae43) from the collaborating organization. The participating drop-off locations are marked with a black asterisk and grey circles with black outlines.

Pollinator Habitat Design
Grounded in the natural history of place, designing each pollinator habitat begins with understanding your land and your vision for it. By blending ecological insight with thoughtful native plant selection, we can create spaces that sustain and attract local pollinators—from intimate garden plots to expansive landscapes.

Need help selecting the best milkweed species for your site? Ecology Ephemera can help with that.
Integrated Pest and Pollinator Management (IPPM) Program Design
Ecology Ephemera helps organizations and land managers develop IPPM programs that balance pest control with pollinator conservation. IPPM programs promote healthy ecosystems and reduce reliance on pesticides.
Healthy environments provide resources for both pollinators and predators. This photograph shows a garden that offers milkweed, which supports monarch butterflies and other pollinators, while also hosting aphids. Many of those aphids serve as hosts for parasitoid wasps, which develop inside their bodies.

Plant-Pollinator Interaction Research
Ecology Ephemera studies the connections between plants and their pollinators. Designing and conducting field surveys tailored to your site helps reveal how well your habitat supports local biodiversity while also providing insight to guide future conservation efforts.

Ecology ephemera can support with some or all of the tasks necessary to answer your research question. Examples of support include: background research, creating survey protocols that are guided by research, identifying plants, and identifying pollinators

Custom Pollinator Monitoring Programs
Ecology Ephemera develops monitoring programs that track pollinator populations over time at your habitat, offering insight into how restoration efforts and landscape practices are shaping the health and diversity of local bees, butterflies, and more.

Community Education
Ecology is more than facts—it’s a story of place, species, and connection. Through presentations and trainings with take-home resources, Ecology Ephemera helps groups explore that story while learning plant and insect ID, pollinator ecology, and habitat stewardship. We’re a resource for Coloradans curious about niche ecological topics.
When I spoke at a Women in STEM conference for high school girls in Nebraska (shown in this photo), I didn’t just share data. I told stories about how insects and plants fall into rhythm with one another. That same wonder is what I bring to every talk, workshop, or walk outdoors.

Let’s Work Together!
